Default Purchusing 2001 Allroad 5 speed tip

2001 Allroad 5speed tip, has 48,000 miles, certified. Asking for 28,000. Need input if its worth buying for that price. Also has there been any usaul issues with the 2001, electrical, mechanical, turbo, airbags, etc. Your input can help me a great deal

Default Plenty of automatics cheaper than that....all around the country....

...even some as low as $22-24k with that mileage and CPO.

I'd say the $28k asking price is a little steep.

Just bought a 2002 AR auto tip with perf and convenience, new tires, cert for 28k with 38k for mileage in San Francisco. I found that prices vary in different parts of the country. Same car was sold in NJ for 24k.

Default its on the high side...

Negotiate with a $22K offer with you check book in hand. Be sure the research the car's history, never take the salesguy's word for anything and always be prepared to walk away..

Default agreed....

having just finished an exhaustive search for mine, you find find 2003's for that price, or 2001's for a much better price. Try searching AudiUSA.com in their CPO locater. You can hit every CPO'd allroad in the country. It also gives you a good idea on the asking prices.

I totally agree about the price being so high. But Im also curious about the model year 01 compared to the 02 or 03. Is there anything I should be aware of with the 01 model consider it being the first allroad model. There are a few 02 and 03 models in my area that are in my area and have de-same or a bit lower miles , and are listed a couple k less, but are not Certified. Does it really matter about the CPO.

Hi I am in the Santa Cruz area looking to purchase a AR as well and looking at a couple SF dealers.

Torn between spending more on something I can test drive vs buying out of state for much less...how come you bought local? budget is around 25k

In the end it was the only place that had what I wanted at the price I wanted it for. I found mine at Royal Motors although I had found another in Berkeley that was a better price but no CPO.

Thanks I talked Royal yesterday, they have a silver one I am interested in...so it sounds like you would not have been opposed to going out of state if you had to correct?

Default As far as CPO goes...

We have written and posted tons about the CPO and the process. Yo may want to search the archive for more details.

In a nutshell.. CPO has become a marketing tool. The system is fraught with abuse.. no inspections, no paperwork, nothing more than the service policy.. and at times not even that. Missleading sales people abound.

As policies go..its pretty good, ask to read the contract b4 you buy...ask to see the DOUBLE SINGED 300 point inspection report. And then call another dealer's service with the VIN and ask them for the service history.

You can buy other service plans from other providers as long as it still has factory warranty left.

Good Luck
