Default Pzero Nero M+S back-ordered from local shop: should I go TireRack or spring for Pilot Sports?

I'm just a little hesitant to do tirerack because of added complication in dealing with road hazard warranty issues (which I've needed frequently in the past).

I know the michelins are great tires, and the guy at the local tire shop (that has been recommended to me by 3 different people including my indy) tells me they're quieter and longer wearing. Before I swallow the $400 price difference, I thought I'd see if anyone here has anything to say.

Especially interested in noise reports, since that's the hardest information to find. Thanks in advance

Default I've got the Pzer Nero M&S and I don't have a single complaint.

They are not noisy, or harsh at all. I've driven them through two white out blizzards this year alone, they have performed very well given their dry performance as well. I was able to climb pretty steep hills with 8-10 inches of fresh stuff.....
