Q7 downsize to Allroad anyone?
Thinking about downsizing to an Allroad for our family of 4. Yeah, we might miss the third row, but I'm so pissed about the Q7 price increase (if you want the 6 cyl) that I can't stomach the economic raping.
I'd love to hear thoughts from anyone who downsized.

worth taking a look at an Audi A6 allroad. You get all the Quattro qualities with good fuel economy and road tax. Personally the Q7 is somewhat of a pointless beast. But still a good motor.

Well...I have both in the garage...or will have the Q7 next week. We've had a Touareg for the past three years.
Two very different vehicles...
...but I don't really understand your question. You own a Q7. How is this car raping you financially?
The only way you're going to get raped financially is to trade in (or sell) a 3 year old vehicle and buy a new one. You'll realize $20K or more in depreciation by selling your Q7 and setting yourself up for another loss with the depreciation on the new car.
You've got another 2-3 years of steep depreciation on the Q7, then that curve will flatten out.
Your best move, financially, is to keep your Q7. And yes, you might be getting lower fuel economy than an allroad will...but an extra $1K in gasoline expense each year is nothing compared to the depreciation hit. And new car sales tax. And registration fees. And higher insurance on a new car.
Now...if you want a new car, that's something else. You will pay for the nose for scratching that itch.
