A question for the braintrust / technically informed...
Every now and then I get a warning on the graphic dash display that the rear hatch is open while I'm in motion. Naturally it is not. No cabin lights come on, no vibes from the hatch itself. Its securly locked.
The warning will also go away by itself after a few minutes. Its a given that something is intermitant. (no vag codes)
Any one have a clue?

Mine didn't do anything intermittant...just failed one -20 day:( Had to be replaced but was still
under factory warranty...that's when they broke all the clips on the rear panel
One of my first experiences with the local dealer, thanks for reminding me Good luck...my thoughts is it is like the old bad vaudeville joke of not being able to get into the doctor for a week...by then it will either not be a problem or it will break (i.e. the joke is that the person will either be well or gone).

I like the easiest fix and solution...
It sounds like the hatch switch has debris embedded. Road salt would make a good conductor to make a circuit for the indicator light to come on. Try giving the internals spritz of contact cleaner and then some lube. This is an AR so I pretty sure it must be something more complicated.
