I went on a two hour drive shortly after registering my new/used Allroad. If you live near SB and haven't been up here before, I highly recommend it. The view is spectacular and the car handled the road like a dream. I passed road bikers every 300 yards or so and each time the Allroad turned heads. I couldn't be more happier with this purchase. Next week, it's up to the American River for a little white water rafting. I'll post pictures when that is through.

Default San Marcos Pass? Grew up in the Santa Ynez Valley and have driven the

pass many times. Owned a Triumph spitfire in HS spent many hours honing the old driving skills on the pass. Of course that was back in the late 60's when it was not as crowded as today. Scared many a tourist. Enjoy your new ride, we all know you will.

Actually, that wasn't quite San Marcos Pass. That will be tomorrow probably. Those pictures are from a road that goes right up through Montecito to the top mountain. It's a tiny road, so much fun.

Default Saw my first tarantula in the wild on that road...was driving an old Trooper and the thing stopped

in the middle of the road and just sat there.
