Default Recommend all season tires for '02 AR?

I need new all seasons for my '02 AR 2.7T. I live in Brooklyn, only rarely have to deal with snow and ice, and am a reasonably aggressive but not performance-obsessed driver. Looking for good tires that will survive Brooklyn potholes, can handle light slush and snow and are reasonably quiet and non-squishy. My Yokohama Advan S4s really struggled in light snow a couple of weeks ago. Many thanks in advance.

Nokian WRG2 or WRG3 are some of the best all season tires in the snow and ice.

Otherwise, Conti ExtremeContact DWS

great tires, not so with longevity

if your not going to see much if any snow, check out turanza serenity plus.
grand touring tire, LLR, super quiet and smooth, 70k mile wear rating, so maybe 50k on an ar, and not bad in the snow

Thanks. Also thinking about Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus, but the Conti's seem to get unanimously great reviews.

I run Michelin mx4 on my allroad, very quite, long life warranty, and recently proved brilliant on snow and ice. Just changed to goodyear Nordics for the winter and they rubbish, didnt pay for them as they were brand new on the car when I bought it, but noisy as hell, sounds like the wheel bearings have failed. Go with Michelin or continental, both excellent tires...

Everyone loves the DWS's, but if you ask Ricam or I, we do not enjoy them.
Too soft a sidewall and with a very limited production run, they are a PITA to replace should one go out.

The Michellins are everyones favorite.

I finally replaced the stock Pirelli P6's on my 2004 allroad with a set of Conti Extreme DWS. So far they've been very good. Excellent in rain and very good in light snow. It's true that the sidewall is softer than some other brands but I haven't noticed much difference in cornering. But that's also because I installed a set of Hotchkis sway bars - which I strongly recommend as it dramatically improved the handling of my allroad. I live in Manhattan and drive to Montauk most weekends, as well in and around the city. The Contis soak up a lot of the city's rough roads, handle well and are showing little wear after 7500 miles.

Thanks. I have the H. sway-bars too, so good to know.

X2 on the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity plus.

I run these tires 8 months of the year. Living 26 miles from Canada requires snows from this point til at least mid-April.

The Serenity's are super smooth and quiet. Absolutely love them!

Installed Conti DWS recently. Love them, except that I can't get them "round" after two balancings, including Hunter Road Force. The old Michelins ran super-smooth. So the Jury is still out for me.
