Replacing cam adjuster...are bank 1 and 2 adjusters interchangeable?

Default TB service performed 25K miles ago. I plan to check the belt, tensioner,

and tensioner damper too. It's difficult to determine where the noise is originating. Sometimes it sounds like it coming from under the valve covers, other times the fan clutch area.

Thought you are going to pick up another 2.7T engine....so I guess you found the culprit?

Default I found a good deal on an engine and got a little ahead of myself. I'll

check the tensioner and replace the adjuster before deciding my next course of action. I still have the Cosworth/Champion RS6 turbos whispering naughty things to me. For now, I keep repeating to myself, "I can be happy with K03s"..."I can be happy with K03s".

Default Update: Looks like it's the timing belt adjuster/dampener. Car currently

has 120K miles and TB services was performed 25K miles ago. The TB has too much slack. See pic poster for more pictures. Looks like kingfishgrapejam hit the nail on the proverbial head. More picture after I find my cam lock bar. Note: I did NOT perform the previous TB job.

For the archives: before dissembling the engine, I did log measuring blocks(variable valve timing) 90 -92 with Vag-com and all appeared well. Based on upon the logs, I figured the Cam adjusters were working properly; however, since I kept getting the 17927 adjuster intermittent code, I planned to change the Bank 1 adjuster.

Make sure they put the washer on the backside of that adjuster when you take it out.

Roller and Tensioner were manufactured by NTN. I'm going with Ruville and INA items this time.
