I went with Thule 415's and a 50" bar. If you buy Thule bars you can use Yakima and Thule gear. The reverse is not true. The 415's have been around for a long time and I think they are soon to be replaced with a new model. Greg

Thule - I like the strength of the rectangular bars.

Thule 751 Fast Fit - not as visually pleasing as stock, but stronger and more versital.

Default thule 415s are allmost as quick as 751s and fit more applications so..

could be swapped to more vehicles. You may be able to hit E-bay at the right time. Check on-line prices first. I have thule components from 20 years ago that fit the new 415 feet and bars that I bought for my allroad. The same is probably true for yakima also. I looked for the factory type alluminum and couldn't find anything the was versatile enough and reasonable enough. I used this site but another was also posted priviously. another is http://www.orsracksdirect.com

http://www.outdoorsports.com/osc/crd/default.asp</a

Default Audi Racks

I bought the Audi bars. They look alot like they are made by Thule and are Thule's latest gen of rack from the website although I could be wrong. The ski attachment is Thule as the only thing that it does not have is a Thule stamp on the bottons. I took a brief look at my fork mount Thule bike racks and believe that they will fit the Audi rack but have not tried it yet. I liked the look of the Aluminum match to the roof rails.
Had bad experiences with the original design Yakima round bars making noise at highway speeds and requiring a fairing. Would imagine that the new models don't suffer from this issue but didn't want to take the chance.

I have the same set-up with Thule, it is great! I use a Yakima ankle bitter bike rack and it adapted perfectly. Also the Thule farring looks great and eliminated noise too.
