My theory is the plastic that its in contact with will itself be a natural vibration suppressor. If it was clamped with metal on metal contact it would of course transmit vibration and movement badly. When I tightened it up to the valance with the hose clamps it actually reduced the drone a little, compared with the very loose hang it had on the stock AR rubber hangers.
Its the regular RS6 exhaust I think (as it has chrome tips vs black), but it did come in 3 pieces. I was told it was cut to help shipping by someone prior to the seller, but they look to be very clean factory cuts. As I said its noisier than I would have thought, so Im unsure really. How do you find the drone?

I don't find any drone at all. Just nice low tones that I can hear but not loud at all.
Mine was intact. I picked it up in NJ, put it inside the ar and drove it home. My muffler shop cut off the mounts in front and welded it to the right point on my ar after cutting off the stock. I've had it on probably 100K by now.

I see you are in a manual though, can you try driving it at 1950 ish RPM at low speed and see if you get anything? If I had a manual I wouldnt be throwing it in 5th at 40mph as the stupid Tip box insists! If I force it to 4th in Tiptronic, RPM goes to 2300 and no noise at all.

Weird. It may bed in over time, but any other theories on why I hear the drone? Maybe its the SE version I have. ts not a huge deal as its easily worked around by simply using the gears, but Id take the regular over SE if its the cause of the drone.

The Tips measure 138mm across, 80mm tall and 90mm deep.
The opening on the stock valance is basically 138mm too, so it is in contact and does require more force and security than the rubber hangers offer. See pics below to see the bad *** hose clamps bolted through a piece of metal clamping I used.
Here are some images without the car lobsided on the patio slab.
You guys might like the wheels too. They are similar to RS6 wheels but are actually oddball 18" RS4 B7 (genuine Audi OEM) wheels from the "options" list. They are the correct offset for the allroad and dont require spacers. I have 255 width Falken 912s on them.
Not bad for a 9 year old, 152k mile car. Really starting to like the AR.
