serpentine belt becomes a serpentine belt becomes a coolant leak....
Update on my recent saga:
Took the car in Thursday. The radiator had a dime size puncture, appearantly the missing bolt from the water pump that was causing the serpentine belt problem could not be found on the second serpentine belt replacement. That bolt, somewhere on my drive home, found its way into the spinning serpentine belt and was thrown into the radiator. Or at least this is the tech's explanation of the story.
My hunch is that the tech DAMAGED the radiator when replacing the F'ing serpentine belt or the water pump. Easy to do, fling a wrench or torque something to hard and the handle goes into the radiator, damaging it.
So, again, on Thursday I stormed into the GM's office, asked for an S4, and the only one they could give me was an 01 S4.
Needless to say, this was my first long term visit with an S4, and I have to say I am converted. This thing hauls major ***, and stops even better. Wifey digs the interior and the simplicity of the lines, and loves the handling/size. I think we will be replacing her Jetta with an S4 (used, 00-02) very soon. BTW, I still have the S4, and I am slowly beginning to NOT miss my allroad.
