Default Smelling gas inside car....

Hey guys. My allroad just hit 100k, and recently I've been smelling gasoline inside the car, mainly when I have the heat on. Almost as though my fan is blowing the gas smell into the cab. I don't know why this would be but I'm getting worried. Its been pretty cold around here in Northern Wisconsin, in the negatives lately. The gasoline odor is pretty strong... Any ideas what this would be? Thanks

Not an Audi expert but with other cars, I would look at the rubber/flexible fuel hoses between the firewall and engine fuel rails.

Possibly the fuel injector o-rings are cracked/old. Also exacerbated when it's cold out (you mentioned using the heater.)

I changed mine using this DIY, it's pretty straightforward:

My new-to-me allroad has a similar problem -- I smell raw gas quite a bit while driving around, it gets worse with the heater on higher.

I don't think, in *my* case, that it is actually my car (at least once my car has heated up). I think in my particular case, I'm just driving around a lot of cars that are furiously trying to warm up their catalytic converters (I live in boston and drive through a bunch of small streets to get to work).

I don't think it is my car mostly because, once my car is warmed up, if I'm sitting in an area away from other idling cars I don't smell the gasoline stink much or at all (or maybe I've gotten used to it?).
