Default so what wears out airbags, miles / months / bumps / level-changes / dirt?
with all the talk of airbag trouble and replacement I'm starting to think about how to use mine conservatively, if possible...

Is there any maintenance that can be done besides washing them?

Default Cleaning them, and the guides, helps greatly in extending their lives.
Bits of debris become imbedded in the sleeve and grind into the bag. In any event the constant flexing will wear them out eventually. Some have over 100,000 on the originals, some have failed at 20000. YMWV

I put it in level 4 and hit them with the sprayer at the DIY car wash...

Default That works, but you need to get in there with your hands.
you'll be surprised to see how much crap is stuck to the strut under where the bag rolls.
