Default On the subject of wheels - some questions...

I think I have decided that I like the Audi RS4 18" rims and want to get them for my 2002 Allroad 6spd arriving tomorrow.. But aren't there problems with the RS4's from Audi being weak/bending? Not to mention spendy!! What about those 'knock offs' I have seen on that style - good deal? More durable? Where can I obtain that knock off from?

Thanks!

Default www.achtuning.com

Talk to Josh (877-722-4886). He knows all the details. He can give you the low down on the options available to you including the new OEM RS4 wheel available in Europe that is made from a harder alloy (still pricey though).

In a nut shell:

The pro of the OEM wheel is that it has the correct offset for the ar. The con is it the cost.

The pro of the replica wheel is the cost ($995). The con is that they require spacers and longer bolts as the offset is 35 mm.

Arnzo - looks like you are doing exactly what I want to do to my AR. Nice!!(PSK,wheels,SO3 tires) What are the new RS4's going to cost you? Are they available now? Do you think the spacer route is not a good way to go with the knock offs...?

Thanks for your help!

Default Like so many other things in life

it comes down to cost, convenience and whether or not you are comfortable running spacers. I've heard from numerous sources that spacers are fine if they are not too big (i.e. under 15 mm), if they are hub centric (like H&R spacers) and if they are used for normal street driving. However, when it came down to it, I decided it was worth the extra cash to eliminate the extra variable. Give Josh a call, he'll give you the correct pricing. Given some posts on www.rs4.org I know that the euro sold OEM RS4 wheels are in pretty short supply so pricing may change. I wouldn't by the OEM RS4 wheels available in the S through Audi. My sencond choice after the Euro OEM wheels would have been the Achtuning replicas as they look identical (slightly different size, 18 x 8 instead of 18 x 8.5) and they sell them with the OEM RS4 center caps.
