Default Suspension mods... are they effective?

So far the popular solutions are the "402" mod and bigger rear sway bar. Well the 402 will reduce amount of air in the airspring. It means, that "spring" will be shorter but with the same compress rate. In other words it is equvivalent to the sawing off a coil from the metal spring. Not the best idea I heared. It will lower the CG and as a result reduce weight transfer. On the other side it will increace amount of bottom-ups.

The rear sway bar will make it stiffer and as a reult increase tendency to oversteer (by reducing the cornering force at rear wheels while cornering). Again: if car understeers, I will get more balanced feeling but less cornering abilities.

I still did not buy the car, but already looking to mod it. Are my concers valid?

Default I think so.... but I dissagree with your point..

In lowering the 402 setting.. you are not cutting a coil off a spring. You are compressing the spring if our are 'progressive springs" then you are getting a firmer ride. If they are not thenthe general ride would not be effected by the springs. It the lower Center of gravity that comes into play..with 3500+lbs it does make a dif.

The Sway bars in FRONT and REAR make a much smoother..beter cornering..FLAT car. It's never a racer... but (I've tracked at Limerock) It is an amazing difference and combination. The ride is a touch harsher. But my wife can still fall asleep in the car.
