Tailgate problem
Are there drain holes that can get blocked?
Any help appreciated.
I'll leave my original...thanks to DJPalland from below...I thought there were drain lines with behind the plastic cladding...there aren't any. Just a notch in the lower, outside corners of the cover. Just remove the cover with a hex, metric I'm sure, and clean them out, or add an additional notch and they'll drain fine.

water will collect in this area. This is caused by blocked drain tubes behind the plastic cladding. I asked my dealer about this, and they cleared them out, somehow.
You could mod the part in the meantime with a dremel or knife, but the root is a clogged drain line. If you don't get it un-clogged, water could eventually find its way inside the cargo area and cause a mold issue. A few avanters have had this issue on the A6 forum.
Good luck!

Just checked the avant...there are no drain lines, just a notch in the outside lower corners. Just take off the covers and clean any accumulated debris out should take care of the problem. Thanks DJ!
Enjoy!
