Default Temp coolant Sensor G62 location? Warranty extensions?

Got the Check Engine light. Vagscanned and got following:

16502 - Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor (G62): Signal too High
P0118 - 35-00 - -

Does anybody know if the Coolant Temp Sensor got the benefit of an extension to warranty? I'm over the 4yr warranty period now.

I don't want to pay $100 to the dealer to scan my allroad and tell me what I already know. If there is warranty coverage, they can knock themselves out.

Otherwise, can somebody help me figure out where this sensor is and what is the part number? How much $ for part cost?

Can I get at it fairly simply and replace it myself?

Default It is right under the intake hose...

...on the pass side towards the rear of the engine bay. This is a cheap part, just make sure you also get a new clip and O-ring. Most places include these with purchase, but make sure.

I don't know of any warranty extensions on this, but honestly save a trip to the dealer and do it yourself. It is literally a 5 minute job.

JUST MAKE SURE the engine is completely cool or you will have scalding hot coolant spaying all over you.

Default Warranty extensions? yes to 100K miles of 5 years.

I got it in the mail from AoA some months ago.

I already replace mine at 130K miles.

A big 25.00 part and gratis install from my tech/shop Tyrole, being I was in for other service. It is a 10 minute job.

Default Easy fix..

It's under the intake accordion hose.. Swaps in just a couple minutes.

Default its the green thing, 10 minute to pull

I rather do it myself than to wait at the dealership. Search the tech sections for a detail description for the job.
