Thanks to "grat" for posting Valentine 1 installation instructions
I tried to use the lighter socket for the Valentine 1 but hit it everytime I shifted into 5th gear. The instructions for permanent installation posted here by "grat" were perfect and took me about an hour.

Good to see you have a 2002 "replacement" on order
I tried to get a 2001 but had to wait for a 2002 to get a 6-speed. The 2002 in-dash changer is nice and I like the amber rear turn signals. If you're going to pull the 605 relay its now #628.

This was my same problem with using lighter.
I used Grat's instructions and they worked beautifully! In fact the whole process took me only fifteen minutes. Thanks Grat!
One note, I wouldn't, and didn't, cut the end of the power cord and resplice another connection. Moving it around to enter into the back of the fuse cavity was REALLY easy.
