Tip Failed and went into Safe-mode
Maybe coding the tip from 02 to 32 which includes full revs in 1st gear is not such a good idea. I drove away from a stop light, full throttle and forgot I was in tip mode (it was a long drive). The transmission over revved, a loud thud occurred and all the gear selection light lit on the dash as it went into single gear mode. I drove it a few miles before I was brave enough to restart the car to my surprised it reset itself and is now working fine.
I might recode it and remove the max revs in 1st gear feature. Any comments to what really happened inside the tranny?

Or... you could shift. =)
Sorry, that's not what you wanted to hear.
I'd guess the thud was a sudden gear shift (initiated by the computer, not you) from 1st to 2nd done at very high RPM, while you were still on the gas... Normally, you'd have to let up on the throttle a bit and let the RPMs fall mid-shift, when upshifting very agressively like that.
