Default Tire recommendations for '02 allroad ..

.. Looking to replace the pirelli tires on allroad. Car has the dual spoke wheels w/ 225/55-17's. What size can I go upto? Any drawbacks. I still would like an all season perfomance. I run Nokian for winter tires on R7's I had for A6 4.2, not a bad tire, but damn, my wife bent the **** out of the rims this winter. I used them 2 years and they were perfect prior to putting them on allroad.
Anyway, what size, and any thoughts about spacers w/ a slightly wider tire.
Thanks all.

Default FWIW- I have Michelin Pilot Sport A/S (see above) 245/50-17 with 8mm spacers...

on my twin spoke wheels. Didn't need the spacers to fit the tires, just wanted a wider stance.

245/50-17 is a perfect upgrade thought there aren't many choices in this size.

However, before buying the Sport A/S, read my post above.....

Default Falken Ziex ZE-512

#1 rated high performance all-season by Consumer Reports. We replaced the Pirellis in the stock size and are very happy. Good handling, good ride, very quiet, 30K tread wear warranty, W-rated, and a lot less money than the Mich's. Do a search on Falken, you'll find that everyone who has put them on is very happy.
