Tired of waiting.....decision is made....8^)..long rant

You just validated my decision to NOT buy an aftermarket warranty
I suspected that when the chips were down all I would get is a hassle and run around.
I hate to be right on something like this, but hey - good luck on the K04's!!

I hear you on the AoA warranty issues
I waited for months to hear back from AoA on a busted timing belt on the A4. Luckily my father in law was out of town and I didn't have to rent a POS. Drove his 540i instead.
They finally came through but I was super close to saying F^&* it and just buying a E36 BMW M3.
It seems there has been a lot of posts on Stratmosphere this week. They might be the only tuner that has a tweaked allroad in their fleet. Which is really cool. I might have to give them a ring...

Not the same transmission in all Audi tips....
The tip in the A4, B5 S4, A6 2.7T, and the allroad is one model. The A8, S8, S6, and A6 4.2 have a second transmission model that is signifcantly strengthened from the one in non V8 cars. The RS6 tip has been strengthened even further from the standard V8 tip. The torque limits on the tip transmission in the B5 S4 have been a limiting factor in the level of modding the tip S4. Since the allroad has the same transmission, I would assume there would be similar durability concerns.

O.CT is keeping the chips a little milder for the 2.7T tips.
The following is some of the email info from Ming 2.7T:
"The O.CT RS4 K04's are very nice. Stronger shaft, different pitch vanes for quicker spool up, and the housing is more heat resistant than the stock Audi RS4 K04's. For the TIp cars O.CT has a detuned program that only runs ~ .90-.93 bar. Plus its setup to reduce boost on the shifts. This program runs less boost, and less torque, less heat that many K03 chips out there."
GIAC, APR, and others do not recommend their K04 setups for Tips. O.CT has been the only one that I have found through my research that does. Since it appears that I will be the first tip to do this mod, all us will find out.
