Tires again
Hi all,
I have time scheduled tomorrow for new tires.
Tell me you smart, good choice or bad choice ?
225/55R-17 GoodYear Comfort assured $142 each.
Total deal $675.
Also says "95H" and "VSB" in the tire section.
Am I putting ok tires under for all season (Chicago) driving ?

wouldn't be my first choice for that price...
Not sure of their all season worthiness. I don't like the word comfort in a tire - that equals soft. H speed rating is not ideal, but acceptable.
What were your other options?

I would not purchase those tires.
H rated?
Comfort?
95 load index?
IMO this is not a good fit for the allroad unless your grandmother drives it and even then I would look for something better.

I love my Cooper Lifeliner Tourning SLE-V's. I live in the Boston area. They are a good allseason radial. Have 26K on them and still going strong.

Somewhat a weak tire...
The 95 load rating is way to light for this heavyweight vehicle. The H, while acceptable is also a lower speed tire. Now you are not going around taking turns as hard as some of us or driving at high speed, BUT, the higher the speed rating usually corelates to a tire that is more capable in day to day as well. Ie..stiffer side wall, better response, better handling and such.
At the very least IMHO, look at a 97 load rating tire.
