Default Trailer Hitch..Recommendations?

I know this has been discussed before, but can't seem to bring it up on a search...
I need to get a hitch installed on my 04 AR and was wondering about my options.
Thanks.

Default 1 option.. OEM Hitch from Audi.

All others are fakes and do no mount properly to the car. The OEM replaces the rear bumper (internal) its very strong and mojnts perfectly.

The U'haul fakes bolt to the spare wheel well and can warp or "oil can" the well. Pluss these mounting bolts require drillin into the well and teh bolts may interfere with the spare.

Default Second that opinion

Paulroad is right. There is nothing better out there. This will give you the true 5500 lbs of towing with about 500 lbs of tongue weight. If you need to carry bikes or some other accessory via the hitch, check out my sig for some pictures of an adapter. Good luck!

Default And when done, works something like this

OEM hitch works great.

Default Question about 2001 AR + OEM Hitch Install

I believe that my 2001 AR (used, non-CPO) is a late model year 2001 (based on in-service date, and on the digital clock w/ date in my tach display). I could be wrong about this; I will have to look up the VIN and verify this information.

From what I have read, I believe that late model year 2001s have some changes to them that make it easier to install the OEM trailer hitch. Can anyone confirm this information?

I have done some searching, but haven't found a definitive answer yet.

Thanks for any info that you can provide.

=-Rob
