when on boost, sounds like the wheel is hitting the housing.. Sandra notices it as well. will poke around but I think if they are blown, that will make me really wonder if the allroad has the S4 fixes, since we seem to be blowing them at a greater rate then the S4's with a much smaller sample number.
Keep you posted

hahah aI don'nt have this information available like my S4..
But it's a 2002, has less then 12K miles, Dealer maintenance so far (including the 5K oil change)..
@002 6spd with a K ECU.. build date unsure, but not that it matters. The allroads were built after the S4 revisions to the motor, no Fhose, better TBB and clamp, revised oil return lines, or oil feed lines. All these updates happened between mid 9/00 and 10/00, so my 10/00 S4 has all these revisions, which the allroad should have as well.

Oh man. Can you log some stuff with VAG-COM to show degradation in boost
or do you think it is still making boost during its self destruction phase?
Between you and JBo I am starting to feel naked driving around with no warranty. Of course an aftermarket warranty really doesn't cover a turbo failure very well anyway which is the reason I decided to pass on buying one.
Keep us posted. Take pics. If anyone can determine a cause or a contributing factor it should be you since you understand these engines better than us average allroaders.
I'd like to know if there is anything I should be checking like oil feed/return lines or something else that may go wrong.
