What is a good price for the used OEM hitch?
I got my allroad with oem hitch installed by previous owner. I'm sure I will never use the hitch so i'm thinking of selling it on ebay. What would be a good price?
Are where different hiches? It says "3300 lbx max" on the sticker.

Re: I didn't know about replacing the parts...
Without the hitch, there's a metal cross bar that that is the internal support for the rear bumper, which attaches to a couple of shock absorbing piston looking things that mount to the body of the car. When the OEM hitch is installed, the shock absorbers are removed, the cross bar is attached to the tow bar, then the two ends of the tow bar are inserted into the body and mounted rigidly to the body where the shock absorbers used to be.
Also, the wiring harness was on a bracket that was riveted to the bumper cross bar. When installing the hitch, it's removed from the bracket and mounted on different one that swings down. If you were to buy the replacement shock absorbers and get rid of the hitch, you'd have to zip tie the wiring harness up in there somewhere, as well. Obviously not a big deal, just an fyi.
I installed an OEM hitch on our allroad, and if I hadn't thrown out the shocks when I did it, I'd give them to you. Sorry.

One below sold in just over an hour, with a number of folks upset that they missed out...

I am sure whoever buys the hitch will send you the shocks.
There is a "manual" on the FAQ showing what is removed. Or if you want I can dig out the box of old parts I have from my install and post a pic.

Re: Depending on who you sell to maybe they will swap the parts with you
Like if you were in Minnesota I would be happy to work out the details to remove from your car and replace the parts needed.

Thanks. So I guess I will have to find buyer in ny/nj area...
...around 50 miles from NYC. I don't have a garage so we will have to do it at buyers garage.
But what about price? If someone need a hitch and wants to make a swap, let me know (with the offer).
