Don't freak out too much. Like a PC, sometimes it just needs a reboot.

Newbie with an '01 6speed, black., Seattle area. Had the same issue when I was purchasing mine 3 weeks ago (that's how long I've been lurking!). The abs warning light, the suspension worked on manual only, and the cruise didn't work. The dealer agreed to fix the problem, and he thought it was the abs module, which he replaced, but the lights were still on. I took the car to my local audi dealer afterwards, and they replaced 1 fuse, which fixed everything! I'm loving the car.

Default Wait a second...they thought it was the ABS module????? Geeee...that sounds scary...

Proper troubleshooting will nail down the sucker to the last bit, are they "guessing" at this dealership?

Even the Bentley will guide you through each electronic DTC, inclusive Voltage/Amp measurements so there is no chance for "trial & error".

Well, at least you've got a new ABS module out of this deal......and welcome to the allroad forum, enjoy the ride ;-)

Default Ok--sounds inconclusive--but if brake switch then---more---

would the brake lights not light??--I have not had the warning lights go on since...and the suspension height adjustments works.??--Whatever--I am purchasing the car--I cannot find anything as a worthy replacement!! I just cannot give up this great ride, yet--maybe in a year or two--If I can justify it financially then a 07 or 08 Avant.--again, thanks all

The "dealer" was a used car dealership that sells everything under the sun, not an Audi dealer. He had apparently gotten bad info. The car is great, now that I've had a reputable mechanic go through it!

Default Well, not really inconclusive, further troubleshooting will for sure nail down the source of the DTC

If you stay with Audi's then may I recommend to get a VAG COM, runs on any old Laptop and you could diagnose and mod your car as you pleased.

Furthermore, you'll know exactly what needs to be fixed so no more "questionable" Bills from anyone ;-)
