What's the Antenna Story???
I've determined that the lines in my rear side windows are not defoggers but the radio antenna. So what is the antenna on the roof for? Is for looks or for GPS (which I don't have)? Does anyone know?
Thanks!
Thanks!

My take on this topic is...
I am a big VW fan. All VWs use the roof mounted Fuba Betaflex-D antenna. No VWs have the weird Audi window antenna.
Add that to the fact that no VW has a cell phone or navigation option.
Add that to the fact that all VWs get AM and FM radio.
Logic would tell me that the roof mount is an AM/FM antenna. The window antennas could be for NAV and Cell. There is a website on car antennas that states there is a Fuba Betaflex-D cellular/am/fm version available, but no info. But my thoughts are that it's only for AM/FM.
The Betaflex-D antenna is an amplified antenna.
