Default Why no mudflap option for the allroad? Anyone got the rear spoiler?

I'd really like some. Driving down I5 this weekend the allroad kicks up way too much spray behind it, and completely messes with the visability of anyone behind you (plus through the rear window).

I'm also thinking of ordering the optional rear spoiler - not so much as a spoiler, but to try and keep the rain off the rear window. I used to have this on my lexus rx300 and it really helped in heavy rain. Anyone else tried this?

I totally agree - the rear window becomes covered in seconds of wet driving, and the rear wiper needs to stay on. I asked the dealer about retrofitting some A6 Avant flaps but the fenders are totally different (obviously .

Never heard of an allroad spoiler option. Where can I see a picture of one?

Default Pic of the rear spoiler

It looks like this:

<img src="http://commerce.audiusa.com/catalog/ar_spoiler.jpg">

You can find it in the boutique section of audiusa.com. Its also on clairparts.com; they list it for $379. Dealer installation recommended and all that.

It may be worth it; as I said, my old rx300 had pretty much the same thing, and it really helped in terms of rain hitting the rear window (although the mess in the back when driving in the rain could be from the spray - its hard to tell. All I know is when I was following my allroad in a different car, I couldn't see a thing!)

I wonder if there are european mudflap options. When I lived in England it always seemed like driving in the rain was so much easier because nearly everyone has mudflaps.

Default The spoiler really works

I have this type of spoiler on my A4 avant and it does the job. It is also real easy to install. It comes with a mastic type of glue that you spread on the bottom of the piece, press it into place, and them put some heavy bricks or something like that to hold it down for an evening. I have the Allroad spoiler on order for my wife's car. Too bad about the mudflaps, as we wanted to get some for our allroad as well.

Default Mudflaps update

I checked a couple of weeks ago with Clair Parts (they sell all the same stuff as Audi Botique...but cheaper). They said AoA told them mudflaps were under development. Hopefully that means they will be available soon. IMO there is a whole lot less "development" needed for mudflaps than for the "high tech" trailer hitch, so how long could it take? If any Audi model needs mudflaps, it is the allroad!!!

Default Are the fender flares on the allroad the same as the 4.2...

if so, the flaps for the 4.2 might fit. Just a thought.
(I realize the fender flares are made from a different material, am referring to size, shape only.)

Default Using the 4.2 mudflaps?

The answer I got from AoA through Clair was "No, they won't fit correctly." Good try, though.
