Interesting that all of the vehicles used here on the Nürburgring are equipped with the standard mirrors. None of them has the virtual mirrors.

Good eye. It is optional in countries where available, right? I mean it is not standard in Germany or something like that...

Every review I have read of those "camera mirrors" has been negative. Seems like a futuristic gimmick that Audi is test marketing in Europe.

No gimmick. Is the way of the future. Honda is launching their all electric car in 2020 and it will have "camera mirrors". Interesting that they are saying they will launch this in the US as Audi has yet to gain US DOT approval.

It’s a €1540 ($1709 at current exchange rate) option in Germany.

They didn't say that they will launch this in the US, only Europe.

But you are correct that it is not a gimmick, nor are Audi testing this in Europe as the previous poster suggested, they are selling it as an option upgrade. Expensive, but it does give a range increase via lower drag.

Notice that there are charging ports on both sides of the car. Could this mean that you could charge the car twice as fast?

Even the standard e-tron has the two ports in European models. For some reason, we only get the driver-side port.

Even though the European model can be equipped with two ports, only one can be used at a time.
