2021 e-tron - indirect ABS senosrs or in tire TPMS sensors?

I don't know if that applies to US-spec Q8, or if it varies by trim. My Prestige Q8et definitely has direct TPMS - the MMI shows both pressure and temperature (which only show with direct TPMS), and I spent a good deal of time with Audi on exactly this topic when buying my winter wheel/tire set to make sure those also had (or needed) TPMS. The default 2023 wheel/tire package for the 2019-2023 US e-trons now includes TPMS by default accordingly. The Q8 isn't listed explicitly in the package guide, but Audi US has said that was an oversight, and the package for the 2019-2023 e-tron is also applicable to the Q8et.
I can't speak from experience, but I have also been told you can tell by the valve stem. A direct TPMS sensor will have an aluminum/silver stem, while an indirect TPMS system will have a rubber/black valve stem. At least on both sets of my wheels with direct TPMS, this holds true.

Audi has gone back to indirect TPMS for the Q8 e-tron.

The tire pressure won't display in the Q8 e-tron MMI unless the car is moving. From the p. 283 of the manual...
"Requirement: you must be driving the vehicle.
> Applies to MMI: Select on the home screen: VEHICLE > Settings & Service > Tire pressure monitoring > Display tire pressure."

I believe that is just because the tire sensors go to “sleep” to conserve battery power and then wake up when motion is detected
