I just figured this out. If the car is left unlocked, under status it will say that the vehicle is not parked safely. Not intuitive but I guess it works - just don't know why they couldn't simply say the vehicle is locked or unlocked and instead had to use "parked safely" or "not parked safely"

Q8 e-tron ONLY has OTA map updates. It does not get any core services updated OTA. This has to do with the CANBUS architecture of the e-tron and Q8 e-tron.

My 2019 etron used to do this. Now my Q8 etron has little lock/unlock icons under the main Range/SOC display.

I believe that to be the case for the original Etron as well assuming I interpreted your post correctly. If the car is unlocked, a red icon will show up in the app under the range display.

My car is sitting in the garage, unlocked and no warning icon anywhere on the first page of the app, although I used to notice one in older versions.

I have to go to: ‘All Functions/Lock/unlock vehicle/Status’ to read “Vehicle is not parked safely”. Still no Red Icon anywhere however.

The little lock icon has disappeared from the app with the latest update. There did used to be a little lock icon on the first page.

Yes. I'm on version 4.20 of the app on iOS; no Red Icon present.
