Today the cameras stopped working for a few hours. I turned the car off and on again a few times and nothing changed. I took the car to the dealership, they confirmed the issue and mentioned that they had seen it on another eTron.
After having left the car parked for a couple of hours, upon my return, I found that the cameras started working again.
Have any of you experienced this issue? If yes, how was it resolved? Was it deemed a software glitch or did it involve a hardware fix?
Yes I’ve had this issue about three times since purchasing e-tron last August. It’s random and very annoying and usually goes away after you turn off car and restart, but not always. Very glitchy MMI in this car.
Remember this is a CAN-BUS vehicle and that means the circuits stay "live" for a period of time after you press the main OFF switch on the car. Most CAN-BUS vehicles stay on about 1 minute, some go longer. To cycle on/off while the CAN BUS is active won't reset anything, wait until everything goes off (exterior lighting, radio, window switches) before you re-start
This issue just started on my car last night after I had the 57H3 service done. Very frustrating. Has only occurred once, hopefully it won't recur. This morning, I also had a blank upper screen for about a minute after I started driving, and then it just popped on. Hopefully this isn't a situation where 57HE service fixed certain things and broke others.
Yep, that's the problem I had with mine before it was bought back. About 30% of the time the backup camera would not come up and that's exactly what it would look like when it happened.
