Any input or output via regen results in at least a 10% loss in potential kinetic energy due to heat, meaning that moving a car via the electric motors results in about a 20% loss of potential range. So, in the etron, just take your feet of the pedals and enjoy the ride!

Still, whiile I would not add it as a paddle shifter option, I have wondered why Audi does not give you a One Pedal option, since some people seem to like it. It may have to do with cost and with dealing with the MLB-evo hybrid platform on which the Etron Quattro is built. My understanding is that the Q4 Etron, on the new MEB EV platform, can be purchased with the option for a "brake mode", which is essentially running the car in One Pedal mode, that is activated by a floor button.
Q4 has it as a standard option to drive in B mode. But the coasting (D) mode is so much better and more comfortable. And saves energy.

Wow the OP came with some serious disinformation about the e-tron. He's got the tech myth, the inefficiency myth, and the one pedal myth all in one post. Yikes.

One pedal driving is so outdated and lame. I wish the car had the option for those who prefer it. To each their own. But man, listening to one-pedal talk is like listening to that guy who still swears he can get better MPG with a manual transmission, oblivious to all the new tech, multi-speed transmissions, fuel shutoffs, idle stop, etc. People who evangelize about one-pedal driving are today's equivalent. I remember what it took to keep a car in glide mode and it was a constant effort. Thank goodness Audi designed a car that glides on its own.

Am I the only person left driving who occasionally removes both feet from the pedals when coasting to a light? Stretch the toes and tap the pedal get contact again. The worst part of the MS is the weird one pedal go-Kart action. Anyway, count me as a person who enjoys coasting. And I have grown to enjoy slowing down further by flicking the paddles with my hands on the way to an intersection.

What you describe is the e-tron experience. Serene yet frighteningly rapid acceleration followed by coasting (3 tons worth) and gentle braking via paddle or pedal (makes no difference) to a near stop. Touch the brake below 7-8 MPH for a full stop. I leave mine in Efficiency mode because I've yet to encounter a need for more power. I can out-run just about any non-Tesla I've encountered and there's been literally no reason to change the drive mode to something less efficient.

The e-tron really should have a % SOC display option. However, it's worth noting that the standard SOC meter can be accurately read more easily than it initially appears. If your display is just below the one half mark and clearly at about 47% charge remaining, the charge display will probably show 47% charge remaining. In other words, you will soon discover that the quarter tank markings mean that you can accurately deduce the actual SOC within about 1% just by eyeballing the gauge.

It sure would be nice if they put the shortcut to the charge screen on existing models. This is where Audi loses ground to everyone. They really need OTA capability to push those sort of simple improvements out to everyone.

A user download to a USB drive for infotainment upgrades would be fine with me. BMW has doing that years ago. Let's see if Audi gets their act ogether and starts offering feature upgrades to legacy models.

I have a US MY22. I’m not accustomed to one pedal driving but I love the e-tron’s ability to coast. The range is fine for me. The direct tpms is nice to have, but I wish it weren’t buried two deep in the sub menus. I like the shortcut to SOC status but I don’t use it all that much in practice. I ALWAYS set/adjust charging in the app, not the car. The app has been super stable for me, but others here have had major issues. After seven months of ownership, I’m finally getting my second key fob this week. Except for a Taycan or e-tron gt, there isn’t a car out there that I would rather have. I’d buy it again.

You can create a shortcut for TPMS to make it a little easier to find, but the process is not intuitive. Audi uses the term "Favorites" to refer to items you store in the upper screen, and the term "Shortcuts" to refer to items stored in the lower screen. The lower screen permanent shortcuts are always displayed in the top row of the lower screen. For my MY2022 from left to right they are Hill Descent Control, User Defined Shortcuts, Homelink, Charging Screen and Screen Dimmer. If you press the User Defined Shortcuts button, the second row of shortcuts appears and these shortcuts can be customized.

To create a shortcut, find the item you want to add when it is presented in a list and long-press the item to see if an options menu appears. So to program TPMS as a shortcut, you would find "Display Tire Pressure" on the list, long-press it and select "Save as a Shortcut." I have searched through all of the menus and can only find three items that are programmable as shortcuts that I think are useful (since the MY2022 already has the charging screen as a permanent shortcut). Those shortcuts are:
  • Home Address (to set navigation to home and begin routing)
  • Hold Assist
  • Display tire pressure

I have those same shortcuts (except the TPMS since my MY19 doesn't have it). But I also added shortctus for "Suspension mode: Trailer" and "Rear cross traffic alert" as I need to toggle those when towing (they're toggled automatically when you plug in the trailer lights if you have the OEM towing package, but mine's aftermarket).
