has anyone ever seen this message and successfully gotten it to go away. it comes up every time i start the car and will say something like "Installing ...". then, within a few minutes i get the error message shown below "the update is not possible". it's been like that for about 2 weeks.
i am not even sure why it's trying to install anything? i paid for a 6mo subscription of Prime Connect to get google satellite maps . it has been working great and says "ONLINE" on the map in VC. so i don't know what it is trying to download anyway.
is there a way to get it to stop trying the update? i'm not sure if the message is being prompted because of something within my Connect subscription or something else? i am well past original factory warranty so i doubt this is some kind of free map update ...
Hi, I had the same issue for 3 months in my A8 (I paid for an additional 12 months of updates) and after lengthy back and forth emails with Audi Technical Support I ended up doing 2 manual updates and arranging for the car to go into the dealership BUT 2 weeks ago the OTA update worked.
I asked Audi TS whether anything changed at their end and they said not - I do wonder whether its a delay between paying for the additional 12 months and it being activated on the Audi servers.
I'm going to see if the next OTA update works before cancellung my appointment.

thank you for the reply! i'm a few months away from the 70k service and i think they'd prob charge me for a pushed update at the dealer ?
so i found a similar concern on Reddit and the owner suggested a solution that involved turning automatic map updates OFF, which is weird. so i did that and still got the error message and thought well this sucks, ill never be able to get rid of this dumb message.
but funny enough, i noticed a day later that i actually started to get a % complete on the OTA update message and about a week later, it has finished and installed (i think). no more "installing..." and error messages when i start the car, and my map version for my region "USA CA South" has been updated to "2024.1_P0696". yay
