Default Basic question

I'd love to take an ED on an S4/S5 however I won't be able to pull the trigger until next year (lighter, easier to tune, V-6 S5 is sounding more appealing). If someone wouldn't mind, could they explain pricing in regards to the ED? Is the price of the trip worked into the car, or is there some discount of some sort on the initial sale price? I'm not clear on what the "up to 5% discount on sale price" description on the AUdi site means.

TIA

Welcome to ED forum, colnago!
This is a dark zone on Audi ED - all depend on you relationship with your salesman.
BMW has Manuf Suggested Retail Price and ED price (and Military sales and Diplomatic sales).
Audi - has 5% below MSRP, but it's all depend on your SA. YOu can get even more.
Is it cost save - almost none. almost all do this not for saving money - to get a great experience pick up your can in Germany, tour factory and then drive on Autobahn at 130 mlh officially.
You also get a free one night hotel and free pick up from hotel to the Forum.
If you looking for saving - Volvo is your choice - they pay for 2 round way tickets - but you get a Volvo.

Fair enough. I was always "aware" of ED, with various mfgs., but when it started looking like it would be a reality for me, I started researching the listing on Audi's site. I didn't know if the "package" was worked into the price of the car, etc. The last thing I wanted to happen is find out that there was some sort of discount on the sale price (obviously price of trip would negate...just looking to catch another dawn on Lake Zurich again, visit a few friends) for ED, but the salesperson telling me "no discount", or some other BS.

Thanks for the welcome, and the info. Now I just have to find a good home for the 1.9L G60.

Default Basic question

Did your buying in Europe save you money? I'm interested in an A3 and would like to do this but have found nothing on whether it is actually cheaper or not from buying in the USA. Forgive me if I break protocol here. I'm new. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to AudiWorld ED Forum.
I move you post away from your original placement because your question has nothing to do with DarthRay post about his S4 European Delivery.

In short, answer to your question is NO. But it's more to this short answer.
First of - discount for A3 is only 3%, even if you get a good sales man and made a better deal, it will not cover your expense for airplane ticket(s) , hotels, food, museums.
But if you liked to travel - this will be awesome vacation.
