Default Ok so which tyre is heavier,235x 35x19 or 225x40x18? i ask this question..

as this week i was thinking of going to 19's!! so naturally when we increase in wheel size the weight of the wheel increases!! but does the tyre?
Would love to know the percentage increase in weight from a 18x8.5 bbs LM to a 19x8.5 LM.

sorry if this seems a stupid question, just wondered how much difference in weight there really was.

Still think a 19inch LM would be less weight than an 18inch oem audi wheel.
Hmm??
Damien.

19's look stupid. Keep the 18" LMs.

Default I'd skip the 19's too. I know we changed the clocks and I'm off a hour but you're off 20 years ;-)

(hint: time stamp on digi picture)

Default Depends on the tire.

A quick search at Tirerack reveals that one brand/model 19" tire was 1 pound heavier than an 18" (Conti sport contact 3)

One 18" was 3 lbs heavier than the 19" (Pirelli P-zero)

and one set was exactly the same
(Bridgestone Potenza RE-11)

If I knew exactly what tire you wanted, I could tell you what the weight difference would be.

The BBS LM`s are

18" - 23.4 lbs
19" - 24.8 lbs

Default For the naysayers that say don't go 19"....... It's your car, make it look like you want

There were a lot of people who blasted me for years for running 17's on my bunny, but I think I pulled it off nicely. The car looked very mean, but it rode like ***. When I got tired of it I sold the 17's and went to some nice 15's, but I sure as heck wouldn't have done for anything but my kidneys....LOL

An old pic and a joke about how my car had never seen snow.......

Default Those 17s are still relatively proportionate to the car....

19s on urS cars just look way too big.

Default They looked better once I refinished the centers in gunmetal, but all silver looked huge.

It's all about how they are presented. You can make them look visually smaller with a darker or off color center and still have a nice big wheel look.
