Default 034 2871R AAN Stage 1 Chipset, now availible.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know we've got the 2871R Stage 1 chipset wrapped up and ready to roll. Good power on tap for sure, 330AWHP and a nice boost threshold at ~3500 for a good strong powerband. These plots are on AAN cams, RS2 EM, 3" exhaust, and the 2871 kit.

Default Yeah, we'll be doing a series of 'large maf' tunes coming up.

The primary reason the 2871 and the 3071 power levels are damn near the same is that we're out of MAF flow. Gotsta go bigger!

Default Nate: What about fuel pump requirements? Doesn't sound like OE will cut it.

Just asking.

Default Throw an RS2 MAF in there also when you do the bench testing.

that is of course unless you were already referring to the RS2 when you said "large maf"

Default The stock pump should never be used on anything higher than RS2 levels, IMO

And even there it's hit or miss. The stock pumps have an internal pressure relief over 90PSI, and frankly don't flow all that much up to that point anyway.

We'd never even consider the stock pump for applications like this.

Default No need, already bench and tuned with. No real flow gains, electrically the same.

They're the same MAF, the only difference is the screen configurations they offer a slightly less restrictive intake, but the overall amount of air they can meter is the same.

Default I think there's plenty of evidence...

...that the stock pump needs to be relayed if you're going to use it for RS2 applications.

But a better bet would be to change it out for a 005, 040 or 044 for anything more than Stage 1/2.
