Default 245/45 17, is it too tall?

Ok, I ordered 245/45 series tires knowing full well that I should have just gone with 255/40's but the idea of a taller sidewall for a DD was tempting. Problem is it's a big tire and it looks like there will be rubbing issues.

So I called and ordered 255/40/17 Conti extremes and am sending these back. They may have worked but they definitely were tall.

Stock tire on the Avus is 225/50/16 right? If so, you're about + 3.5% rolling diameter

25.68" diameter versus 24.86" OE diameter = 0.82" delta = 0.41" radius increase.
