Default 2W instrument cluster guage bulb upgrade questions.
1. cheapest spot? either audi p/n 893-919-040-A or Fap99 has the VWW058867 for .76 each.

2. I disassembled a 92 cluster guage prepping it for swap into my 93. It had 11 orange based 1.1w bulbs. Only 2 of those were covered w/ the red condom. Sound right?(Trying to determine if PO has been back here before)

Default If you have a 92 cluster, grab the trip computer stalk and with a little work you will have a trip
computer.

Default I'm working on that. i have the stalk installed already.
I figured before i put this IC in, I might as well freshen it up. Any feedback on the on the bulb Qs? Are all the orange based bulbs supposed to have red condoms?

None of the bulbs I changed to 2W had "condoms" IIRC.

I thought the instruments voltage regulator is a weak link? Wouldn't this just make it worse?

Default I tried the "condoms" on the white gauge face w/ 2W bulbs, it got a lot darker.
It seems to work fine with the black face gauges. More contrast, etc.

Default The only spot where I had condoms were behind the MIL display.
I had 2, one red, one orange..
