Default Anyone else interested in TrafficPro II Navigation ?

Ford TrafficPro II made by Becker of Germany. Classic German minimalist/functional style, fits right in. Includes maps ... etc. Fantastic stereo, Aux-iPod, Phatnoise connectivity, excellent navigation - OEM look.

Default 2 of the 3 plugs are the same. The 3rd is similar but has more pins. It's same as on later models

Audi stereo's

The bose amp, speakers are compatible. The GALA signal is also reused. Connecting a Reverse signal is about the only new thing required.

Neither Zwoobah nor I used the Bose/Sony stock CD Changer. You can probably get a converter from PIE but why bother ? Better off with iPhone/iPod or Phatnoise.

That's about it - Zwoobah, can you recall anything else ?

Default the wiring is pretty straightforward

once you have a good understanding of the stock wiring in the car. the TPII uses the stock 8-pin power connector (with some slight adjustments) and you will have to build a conversion harness to the regular blaupunkt/HK/becker/newer audi large connector. that connector can also include a PIE iPod input, which is what I run. works great.

Default A TrafficPro is red/orange. All TPIIs are green.

I believe you can swap out the face plate, but if you want red/orange you should just buy a TP- it wouldn't be that easy to find someone with a TP that's willing to trade.

Default Thanks, next question... will the maps work for Canada?

I can't find anything on the web, the CD's just say US. I would imagine it would... but just want to check first, before I search further.
