Anyone here with a hardwired V1?

?
are you asking if you could use the power from your dome light by your rearview?
maybe...
i have my V1 hardwired from the spots by my shins up to in between rearview&passenger sun-visor.
thats next to where youre asking i think.
but im not sure that that power supply is acceptable,
unless you want to control on and off instead of your ignition

i did mine a month ago
it's not as simple as the overhead light source, unless the little box can fit in there too.
plus i have a V1 remote.
i ran my wire along the windshield over to the driver's door and under the driver's knee panel. plenty of places to tap power there and plenty of places to stuff the extra wiring and the little adapter box.
sorry for the blurry pic...but here's all my wiring...for the connector, by the way, i just stripped off the insulation from around their connector and jammed it under one of the nuts in the power block there...

another tip...to keep the wiring from popping out of the headliner, take some masking or electrical tape, and start rolling it as tightly as you can, sticky side out. stop when you get a cylinder about 1cm in diameter. wedge that in there, and the wire won't pop out.

I think most people wire to the sunroof power. If you are really goin' nuts, see the URL.

nothing flat out wrong
ah, its okay. nothing horrible,
id simply rather have no more extra wires in the jungle.
even my clean zip tied setup is there - .
a stand alone optima with addons would be a funtime.
thats in the future though...and ***top secret***

That's more or less what I did, too.
I have the V1 remote as well. Given that, running the flat V1 cable around the windshield is a no-brainer. I went around the passenger side in my case, but I don't recall why I did it that way.
I didn't have any issues with tucking the cable behind the trim. It has stayed totally hidden for nearly a year now, and it was very simple to install. No trim had to be removed in order to run the wire, except obviously for the knee panel.
Mine runs through a switch in the panel which also powers the laser jammer.
I'd definitely recommend the V1 remote. It's cheap and you can put it in a location that's much easier to see for the driver but impossible to see outside the car.
