Default Anyone running staggered wheels on an UrS? Thinking about 7.5 front and 9 rear....

although with the UrS's weight distribution I might be better off the other way around.

Default Fatter tires on the front would seem to make more sense...

Why not just go 9" all around?

Default I am pretty sure, no matter what you do, you need to keep the rolling diameter the same. This means..

that the tires would have to be different sizes. Even if the diameter is the same, there could be subtle differences based on the rim stretch. I am not sure if the torsen center diff can compensate for that or not.

Anyway, generally not done. MTM had wider front wheels (and tires) on their RSR Coupe featured in the June 95 issue of European Car and the July 95 issue of VW Audi Car.

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4s6/msgs/64145.phtml</a

Default BUT, it is possible including the rim stretch factor to find two differently sized tires...

that will be within 1% of the same rolling diameter or circumference. You just must do your research thoroughly. Keegan has it done on his CQ.

And so much for rotating your tires front to back, etc.

Default Welcome to the world of most RWD cars with power. Most of them all use wider tires in the rear...

You learn to live with it.

Default Not to argue, but have you noticed we have all wheel drive? Not even Hap runs wider wheels at....

one end or the other. IMHO, its better to tune the suspension to give you the under/over/neutral steering you want rather than play around with the tire sizes. Why not run stickier tires on the front and hard tires on the back?

See what I mean?

Default I know we have AWD. This post is about someone wanting to run different widths of porsche wheels..

I never once said that it was going to give our cars a performance edge or even alluded to such. I merely said it was possible to run a wider tire in the rear if you can find a tire within a close range of the front tire rolling diameter. So before you go jumping to conclusions read the post for what it actually says. All I said is that it is possible for those who choose to do so..
