Default I hear ya, I think it is just the fact that the

turbo is always going up the pass...I by no means am tapping the rev limiter, but I do have it to where I have enough boost going through the turbo that it give me enough HP to at least maintain a healthy speed. I would probably say I am anywhere between 3500 and 3800 rpm up the pass.

Default there is a B&M on my car, but because it is behind the bumber, not very effective...

...temp gets hot on any day over 70 degrees.

Default Pic of my 1st and 2nd attempt at a better-than-stock Oil Cooler

Of course the best bang for buck is probably going to be adding a puller fan on the back of the cooler to suck air through it - that should help even a stock cooler. And it's VERY cheap.

First attempt was with a B&M cooler at an angle to the airflow - what a POS ! The cheap alum casting cracked after a week. Don't touch B&M

Second attempt was with a smaller Fluidyne cooler. Note how the oil lines are not yet braced to the body of the cooler in this pic - do not do without this !

Again - these lines should be braced

The hot-air has to go somewhere, better out the wheel well than into the cold-air intake (metal plate helps separate air flow)

My 3rd attempt was with the larger cooler as in previous post. I don't seem to have photo's of that.

Default

Good to know why B&M coolers are so inexpensive.

Default Yo Brian.......here is a pic of mine.......

It's a big old Fluidyne unit...almost the same size as stock IC......so I used the stock IC duct too. My oil is almost too cool now........but of course I drive like a granny. Total cost was less than $175 including lines/fittings. Hope all is well.
