Default CPS removed - plug crumbled - replacement source needed

Gentz,

I succesfully removed the old CPS but the plug simply
crumbled away in my hand.

Anybody know where I can get a replacement, hopefully
by tomorrow?

It looks like the same plug on the coil packs, I suppose I
could rob one off the silver S4 and replace it later.

Does this plug have a name?

Thanks
Chris

Default

IIRC the plug is the same as a three wire VW (edit) O2 sensor (cut and splice)

Default The CPS has three wires. The three wire VW O2 sensors have three wires. What am I missing?

Seriously, a Jetta III O2 sensor at a wrecker has three wires, connected at the firewall. IIRC one half of the pair is the same as the CPS plug.

Default Which part crumbled the harness end or the CPS end? Either way, the VW three wire O2 sensor connect

ors should work (IIRC). Visit a friendly wrecker, looking for a Jetta III (93 to 99)

Default I used an old VW Knock Sensor connector and wiring on mine.

I happened to have a Knock Sensor from a 91 Passat 16V sitting in my garage, so I used it and have had no problems since I spliced my replacement CPS into it.

I thought you meant the S4's O2 sensor plug, cause it looks like it has 2, thanks for the info!

Default Kate gave me a rough time but, in the end, she gave it up. PN's inside

The female 3-pin connector on the ECU harness is 443 906 233.

The male pin equivalent (the CPS connector end) is 443 906 247.

Reference:

For the harness end: A10Q, 1993, MG 9 SG 71 Ill. 971-52, Item 15

For the connector pair: EL, MG 9 SG 71 Ill. 970-40, Items 21 and 22

However, I am still convinced that a 95-98 Golf/Jetta three pin O2 sensor connector pair is the equivalent.
