A deal on shock absorbers for those interested...
Alright... I just got a very good deal on new adjustable Konis. I should have them in my car within the next few weeks.
I do have old Bilsteins in my car currently. I'd like to get them re-valved. I have all the contact info. AFAIK it's $52 to have each re-valved, along with shipping. Appearently you give them corner weights, spring rates, and the intended use for the car. You could specify extremely firm, or loose, or whatever... they make them to your specifications.
Since I won't really need them, this is a good opportunity to get some custom shocks. This is probably a great opportunity for the hardcore people that want extremely firm suspension for racing/etc. If anyone wants to fund the cost of re-valving, shipping, and an extra $50... they're yours. Everything would probably total about $320. After I install my new Konis and make sure I'm sufficiently happy with the set, I'll contact Bilstein in San Diego to figure out the details.
If there's no interest in this, I'll probably just pay to re-valve them to the "sport" setting and sell them on eBay or something. Hopefully people won't be scared of revalved shock absorbers.
Has anyone had bilsteins revalved? Is it worth it?

I dunno... I believe Bilstein can make them firmer than anything I've ever driven.
The reason I'm simply not revalving my Bilstins and keeping them for myself is because I want little/no downtime for my car. I'd have to un-install, wait a week+, and then re-install if I wanted revalved bilsteins. This way I can just swap. I also like the adjustability of the Konis. If I did have the Bilsteins revalved for myself I'd probably revalve them to 35% or so firmer than the regular sports. I'm hoping the Konis will be firmer than the regular sports... but the nice part about those is I can adjust them down for bumpy roads or long trips.
