Doubling WG spring

Doubling WG spring
My friend has a 86 5000cs and he was told that if were to pull the wg spring out of a totaled 5k he could pay $75 labor and it would emensely help his performance. Would this procedure work/be worth the time on our cars? Just a thought.

Heres what he needs to do...
Take off his wastegate cap, pop out the plug on the top, and take it to the hardware store. Buy a bolt that fits, and thread it through the top. You can tighten it down right to the point where the car almost cuts out (1.5 bar). He should notice a good increase in performance
If he want to put a bit more time into it, he needs to send a $110 to this guy (http://www.homestead.com/Ben_Swann/pricing.html) and get himself a QLCC chip, wastegate spring, and intercooler straps). My 5ktq hits 1.9 bar (stock was 1.3 - 1.4), and is faster than a stock UrS4.

Is there any advantage to a stiffer spring on my chpped UrS4?
with the stock WG spring its hitting full boost, but would it spool quicker with a stiffened spring?
