Default Electrical problem somewhere...

I was on the freeway ready to change lane and as soon as I flickered my signal, i saw the speedo and tacho drop and came right back up. What's the relation? Anyone experienced this B4?

Default Could be a bad connection on the cluster PCB.

I had a similar issue where the tach and speedo would drop when the handbrake was on (or maybe when it was off, I forget). Bad solder joint on the circuit board...

Though that was on an older cluster with the mechanical odometer. From the looks of it the newer clusters should be much more reliable. (No crappy phenolic-cardboard PCB flexing all over the place.)

Default Magnifying glass works good for inspecting solder joints on clusters.

bad joints will be cracked all the way around and go open when they get hot. We use them to inspect relays on cars that have intermittent fuel pump problems too and often see cracked solder joints. If you end up having to take the dash cluster apart you should do the 2 watt dash cluster bulb upgrade if you have'nt already. =)
