Default Front Brake Pads and Rotors

Hey all, I decided to replace my front pads and rotors. However, I'm having a huge amount of trouble being able to fit the caliper with new pads onto the rotor. I opened up the bleeder in order to get the caliper back on but for some reason it wont open up enough to allow this...its about 4mm away from fitting. Is there some special thing i need to do? I've done brakes on other cars before and its never been this difficult. Please help. Thanks -Steve

Default I compress the pistons with a generic C clamp, never cracked open the bleeder.

But now that you have, you should consider a full pressure bleed of all four corners.

And watch that the brake fluid doesn't leak out of the open reservoir. (BTDT, D'oh!)

Default are they frozen?

if they don't go back in easily with the reservior open then something is wrong w/ the caliper.

Default Re: Front Brake Pads and Rotors

Thanks for all your help. The open reservoir and a bigger C clamp did the trick. First thing I did to my "new" urS4.
