new Exide battery, car now starts on first crank and car overall feels stronger
had battery tested and meter said to replace it, hoping it has possibly solved my single boost hesitation, car is pulling hard and smooth today

Gee, I wonder if this is my problem too?
What voltage are you guys showing while cranking? My needle swings about 1 volt in each direction with the midpoint being just about 9 volts. Haven't had trouble starting--even in -20F.
My battery is an OEM VW battery, 3 years old with a 60 month replacement warranty.
And I was thinking of putting in an Odessey 15lb. lightweight battery in there. 280 cold cranking amps and all the rage of the B6 S4 crowd.

Exide batteries="lots of trouble"! I haven't been lucky with them...
3 Exide installed last year and all of them already failed... For me that's enought!
Anyway, the ones I bought were "Made in Spain", maybe that's the reason- Spanish parts are miserably produced...
