Ok,I need some inputs on GT2871RS with MRC software?
Has anyone running GT Turbo with MRC software?
Recently,My choice is I need some kinda RS2 turbo to eliminate the cost of oil restrictor, additional oil/water adapter/lines on
the setup.Second,my car is auto tranny.I'm not knowledgeable on GT turbo so I don't know if the gained horsepower/torque is above the RS2 setup.I'm on the risk of running RS2 turbo. So
I don't want anything above the RS2 stage.that's hit the ceiling of mine.(I'd prefer 2871 > 3071 the reason is my tranny.I need faster spooling up)
but it seems the price of the GT turbo and RS2 turbo is just the hairline. So that definitely make me wonder If I'd get the GT turbo.
one problem is currently I have MRC stage 2 software on my car.I'd like to use this software.I don't want to dump any $$$ at this moment. If finally, the MRC software can get along with GT turbo.I might get the turbo on the next Jan.

If you already have the MRC software then I would recommend the RS2 turbo
I ran the MRC software with both the RS2 turbo and the GT2871 hybrid and my choice would be the RS2 turbo. I was sorely disappointed when I ran the Garrett on the software that was written for an RS2 turbo. As Corey said, the spool up was increased considerably with no appreciable gains in power. Another consideration is how easy the RS2 is to deal with. With your recent experiences in turbo swaps you could have that turbo in place in under an hour where the GT2871 is much more involved. The coolant feed line is quite a hassle to get in under the intake manifold.
All this being said I will be putting the GT2871 into my other S4 this spring using the dedicated 034 software. I trust their numbers and if I have my facts straight the bearings in the Garrett are more reliable long term then the ones in the KKK RS2 turbo. Maybe others on the board can give opinions on that as well.
Hope this helps Pop

Thanks for your input Trent. The reason I'd stick with RS2 turbo...
is It's incrediably easy to put it in place.
It's also easy to back the thing to K24 setup.
Anyway,I also want to taste the ball bearing turbo too.but It seems I need a lot of stuffs for the GT turbo. How comparable RS2 setup VS GT 2871 in term of HP/torque gained, spooling up?
IIRC RS2 setup is somewhere around 280-300 WHP.
What about the 2871?
Big thanks to you ,Trent ;-)
