I have read the technical differences but what is the general consensus? Is the S6 a better version or are the earlier cars better? Or pretty much the same?

There are minor differences between model years that are generally a matter of taste - stiffer springs and boost guage but steel sunroof in 92, CF interior in 93, etc. To me, the wider first gear in the 95.5 cars is a big difference, especially if you are going to run high boost. When I sold my 94, I passed on several 95's to get a 95.5 for the first gear (the edl, radio difference, and RF remotes were just a bonus).

Now if I can just find CF from 93, the springs, right side mirror and boost guage from 92. etc. lol

My 94 does have an oil pressure gauge, and the extendable prop rod. So much for that.

I have the expandable prop, oil press gauge, and an all aluminum innercooler!

About the best of all worlds. Still have the trip computer/boost gauge, rear sway, quattro script, etc. I'm not a big fan of the carbon fiber interior bits anyhow...
